Pregnancy shifts posture, center of gravity and muscle function. After birth, the body continues to adapt - often while healing, feeding a baby, carrying weight asymmetrically, and moving on little sleep.
Common experiences include:
Hip, pelvic and low back discomfort
Rib, neck and shoulder strain
A feeling of imbalance or instability
Tension patterns that linger after birth
These changes deserve care that supports how the body actually functions, not just temporary relief.

During pregnancy, your baby responds to the tone, balance and shape of your body and the ligaments supporting the uterus. When the pelvis and surrounding tissues are more balanced:
The uterus can hang more freely and evenly without being overly pulled by the pelvic ligaments
Your baby may have more space available to them to find their optimal position
Gravity can support natural positioning
Nervous system relaxation for you translates to the same for your baby
After birth, supporting your body continues to support your baby - by helping YOU move, feed, carry and recover with more comfort and stability.
When your body feels more supported, daily care often feels more sustainable.

"I am so grateful for Emma and Seattle Pregnancy Massage. I scheduled an appointment in hopes it would help with with some hip / SI joint pain that was flaring up late in my second pregnancy. Emma took care of that and so much more.
My first birth was a tough experience. My kiddo was asynclitic and ultimately couldn't descend. I ended up in a c-section after 46 hours of labor. Emma noticed my pelvis was flared on one side, likely from that first birth experience 3 years prior, and helped me bring it back in alignment. Her treatment was relaxing but intentional - working to create space and gently encourage my second baby to find an optimal position for birth. I left that massage feeling better than I had in years. And after 2 appointments with Emma, I went on to have the birth I hoped for - a very quick VBAC
I genuinely believe my successful VBAC was in part due to Emma's care, helping to get my body and baby aligned and ready for labor.
My only complaint is that she books out very far in advance, so don't wait to schedule and watch for cancellations to get in sooner"
